Senior Design Engineer

Start: ASAP
Location: Cambridge, CB21
Hours: Mon-Fri
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

The Senior Design Engineer will work in the new product development team to ensure that new products continue to meet high levels of quality. Working from early-stage concepts through to manufacturable designs you will be passionate about our products with an eye for detail and good team working skills.
  
As an engineer in the Advanced Engineering group, you will focus on system level specification, design, and validation through an integrated approach in product development.

Responsibilities of The Senior Design Engineer:

  • Working in cross-functional project teams in iterative new product development, ensures the product system is defined, implemented, and validated throughout all phases of development.
  • Support the specification, definition, co-development and validation of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Co-develop proof of concept and proof of principle prototypes for evaluation and user testing.
  • Co-ordination of the project technical tasks and progress whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Project Management Office.
  • To liaise with the NPI team to prepare and transfer the product for mass manufacture, including DFA / DFM review.

Skills and Experience Required of The Senior Design Engineer:

  • Degree or HNC/HND educated with significant experience of working in a design and technology company or high-end electronic consumer products company.
  • Strong skills and experience with mechanical CAD systems
  • Strong experience with electronic control systems.
  • An understanding of transferring products into manufacture in China and Europe.
