Aspire Cambridge are recruiting an R&D Scientist on behalf of our client in Royston, Hertfordshire.

Start: Immediate
Hours: Mon to Full Full Time
Location: Royston, SG8
Salary:
£35,000 to £45,000

To support our clients rapidly growing team we are seeking a bright and enthusiastic R&D Scientist to join us in creating new Products.

This is an exciting and varied role that will manage and carry out R&D projects, collaborate with scientific partners globally and participate at conferences.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Molecular Biology, ideally with experience in Singe Cell Biology/ Genomics and/ or Microfluidics.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Management and execution of R&D projects in the laboratory to develop new Products
  • Drafting and maintenance of documentation required within the R&D Process
  • Collaborating with R&D partners both locally and abroad
  • Supporting commercial activities within Dolomite Bio
  • Participation at scientific events/ trade-shows

Requirements
Essential:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or similar with a minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant area. Relevant areas include but are not limited to Single Cell Biology, Genomics, Oncogenomics, Immunogenomics etc
  • Proven ability to design and implement novel Molecular Biology assays, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, published patents or protocols
  • A strong desire to develop Products that will impact the Life Sciences
  • Experience with Tissue Culture within the laboratory
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work within a budget
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with usage of Microfluidics in Biology
  • Experience developing high-throughput Molecular Biology assays
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing or similar technologies
  • Experience with microscopy for Cell Biology
  • Sufficient knowledge of Computational Biology in order to interact with Bioinformaticians
