Aspire Cambridge are recruiting a Guests Services on behalf of our client in Wyboston, Bedfordshire.

Location: Wyboston, MK44
Hours: Full Time
Hourly Rate: £9.40 to £10.20/hr

Main Duties and Responsibility of the Guests Services Person: 

  • To display, at all times, a friendly, courteous and professional manner in all dealings with guests and other employees.
  • To keep informed and updated on information, policies and procedures relative to the Front of House area and the hotel in general.
  • To be familiar with all hotel services, hours of operation, key hotel personnel, daily activities, functions, etc.
  • The Guests Services Person will know the room types and locations of all guest rooms; select and block rooms for arriving guests; and to pre-register individuals or groups as required.
  • To ensure a smooth operation of the cashiering functions for guests. To check guests out of the hotel in accordance with standards and procedures, including PCI compliance; provide change and post charges to guest accounts.
  • To reconcile all transactions at the close of the shift.
  • The Guests Services Person will  be responsible for bedroom keys and internal site keys, including meeting rooms, ensuring they are signed in and out, keeping an accurate log to ensure high level of security at all times.
  • The Guests Services Person will  quote and be familiar with room and rate availability for current and future dates and accept reservations, changes and cancellations whilst ensuring the integrity of reservations process.
  • To accept and place wake-up calls for hotel guests, order and arrange the distribution of guest and complimentary newspapers.
  • To be responsible for incoming, outgoing and internal post, including recording and tracking of incoming and outgoing parcels to ensure delivery and collection.
  • To respond correctly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • To be willing and able to cross train and assist in other departments as required.

Principal Skills and Competencies of The Guests Services Person:

  • Ability to work shift rotas, with regular weekend working.
  • Ability to cover an overnight shift occasionally to support the Night Team if required.
  • The Guests Services Person will be smart and pleasant appearance in keeping with Company image, including hair-style, make-up and dress code.
  • Excellent customer care skills, ability to understand and respond to their needs.
  • Organisation skills, planning and good time management.
  • Computer literate – able to use Word, Excel and learn the internal electronic systems used within the Company.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own and able to use initiative.
  • The Guests Services Person will have the ability to handle and resolve enquiries and complaints in a polite and professional manner.
  • Helpful and friendly manner, ensuring excellent hospitality to our guests at all times.
  • Good communication skills, by telephone and in writing.
  • Very good administration skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good attendance and timekeeping.
