Aspire Cambridge are recruiting an Engineering Services Manager on behalf of our client in Stansted, Essex.

Hours: Mon to Fri, Full Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Engineering Services Manager:

  • Plan, organise and direct the Engineering and Facilities operations.
  • Plan training and development of the Engineering and Facilities team.
  • Complete APDR process in a timely manner, delivering Staff Competence and Behaviours for the Engineering and Facilities Team, supported by the Facilities Manager.
  • Identify and support with implementation of initiatives to improve manpower utilisation and process improvement for the continuous Improvement process for Stansted.
  • The Engineering Services Manager will continually review activities to deliver maximum return on efficiencies whilst operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure quality requirements are always met.
  • Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement; maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage effective communication through Engineering and Facilities Team.
  • The Engineering Services Manager will support with the selection of staff, plant and equipment.
  • Train, motivate, and performance manage staff; promote employee development and encourage progression planning, ensuring accurate population and maintenance of the skills matrix.
  • Adhere to industry standard QA rules and regulations.
  • Ensure all relevant Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Local Instructions are kept up to date and delivered to your team accordingly.
  • The Engineering Services Manager will keep both Employee or Commercial Confidential Information received, in the strictest confidence and you will exercise reasonable care to prevent disclosure to others.

Experience and Qualifications of the Engineering Services Manager:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering, with 3 years of line management experience (essential)
  • Aviation background (highly desirable)
  • The Engineering Services Manager will be computer literate – competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding and implementation of lean process principles and their application. (essential)
  • The Engineering Services Manager will be managing Environmental, Health and Safety requirements (highly desirable)
  • Completing and updating Risk Assessments (highly desirable)
  • Contractor Control (highly desirable)
  • Relevant Engineering Qualification (essential)
  • Graduate – business or technical field (highly desirable)
  • Lean certification (essential)
  • Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 2 or above, or equivalent (essential)
  • Managing Health and Safety Qualification IOSH or equivalent (essential)
  • Certificate in Risk Assessment (essential)
  • Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English (essential)
