In 2008, founder Kelly Haston, found a gap in the recruitment market . The recruitment industry has changed dramatically, with approaches to recruitment techniques developing in parallel with the introduction of new digital technologies and platforms. This fast flowing industry has no choice but to adapt to changes, ensuring that the best talent acquisition methods are being implemented, in order to increase the success of filling a vacancy with the best possible candidate.
Kelly’s career in recruitment started in 2004, so she really does have a wealth of experience in the industry. Today she is currently responsible for the overall performance of the business, across all specialist divisions, defining and implementing strategy and growth plans.
Working with the management team, one of Kelly’s core objectives is to ensure delivery to clients and candidates is kept to the highest of standards. She builds on relationships that have been formed since the launch of the business and ensures that all partnerships are built on foundations of trust and integrity, while ensuring the highest levels of customer service is achieved.
Outside the office she can be found travelling and on regular holidays. Weekends are spent with the family and spending quality time with her daughter.
Having worked as a HR business partner previously, Jenna joined aspire cambridge to start her career as an outsourced hr consultant in 2016. She brings more than 10 years’ experience to aspire cambridge, her past experience includes responsibility for 800 employees, across 25 branches in 3 counties, 3 smaller businesses and the central support functions on all employee relations issues including devising and delivering training to managers. She has wide sector experience, having worked in both public and private sector companies that include outsourced HR environments. 1st April 2017 saw Jenna’s promotion to HR Director where she is now responsible for the implementation of human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, health and safety, succession planning, employee relations and retention.
Her role is to primarily act as a fully outsourced human resources department to sme’s, however she is also known to deliver solutions to enterprise businesses that have one off projects or complex requirements that needs some additional support and expertise. She is successfully developing all aspects of outsourced HR, from training and recruitment to performance management and disciplinary procedures.
In Jenna’s spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, enjoys cooking and going on holiday.
Jasmine is a graduate consultant, having gained her BA(Hons) in english language. Jasmine started her career in recruitment in 2012 and has spent four years recruiting both temporary and permanent employees. Jasmine was drawn to recruitment following a successful career in sales and account management and would tell anyone that her true passion lies with offering the very best customer service to both clients and candidates.
Jasmine has most recently passed her certificate in recruitment practice qualification and also her membership with the IRP. After a period of study and exam based in London Jasmine was proud to pass this making her a senior consultant with aspire cambridge.
Jasmine should be better known amongst our team as the next ‘Mary Berry’ with her second love being baking – often bringing in home cooked treats for the team and our ever expanding waistlines.
Andy started his career in recruitment following a customer facing role within trade sales. With excellent B2B and B2C communication skills Andy has a strong results driven work ethic and has secured strong rapport with his clients. Rapidly becoming a leading and credible recruitment consultant in his field of information technology Andy is currently enjoying fulfilling business relationships with leading technology companies not only in Cambridge but Europe too!
Andy has a technical mind-set with strong attention to detail skills and enjoys spending his day speaking to candidates in depth in order to provide his clients with the ultimate recruitment experience.
Andy has recently completed a course via the REC (recruitment and employment confederation) for candidate management and sourcing, keeping him ahead of the competition and making his service stand out with unique ways of finding talent within the information technology division.
Outside of work Andrew can be found supporting and playing for his local football team or failing that, on a the beach riding the waves on his surf board.
Mike joined the team in 2017 having previously worked in recruitment within the construction sector. Having previously held responsibility for placing personnel into both permanent and temporary placements, Mike has a good understanding of the 360 recruitment process and is dedicated to committing his future career to our industry.
Mike demonstrates a sincere interest in people, has the ability to calm people and appropriately handle both the human side and the task side of complex projects. This strength is of great value to our business and in a variety of situations. His patience, coupled with his “people skills,” make Mike a welcome empathetic addition to our team here at aspire cambridge and his peers.
Mike has excellent listening skills and is perceived as a person with an active interest in the opinions of others. His listening style is natural and genuine. Mike persuades others by offering empathy, understanding, and friendship. This approach allows him to build trust, credibility, and rapport with his audience through his sincere desire to understand their needs.
Mike is very service-orientated and often willing to jump into a project, giving appropriate focus even to day-to-day minutia. With a high degree of sincerity Mike will always follow through on projects, he does his homework prior to a meeting or event and makes a welcome addition to our team.
Outside of work you’ll find Mike socialising with friends, visiting the gym and watching football.
Rachel is our first recruit of 2017 and hired to take over the management of all permanent hires in both our finance and accountancy and hospitality division’s. Keen to embark on a career in recruitment, Rachel spent the past nine years in hospitality and a demanding customer facing role. With an impressive track record and experience of B2B and B2C communications in the hospitality industry we were very fortunate to attract Rachel to the company. Rachel has a results driven work ethic which over the years has secured strong relationships with her clients.
Joining the team here at aspire cambridge Rachel embarks on a rewarding career in recruitment; she’s keen to put her consultative customer focused approach into practice in an effort to build strong and long lasting relationships with the business community.
Rachel is a dedicated and passionate team player who goes the extra mile to exceed expectations. She enjoys spending her days gaining a competitive advantage in her field and also building long lasting relationships.
Outside of work Rachel can be found creating modern hair up’s for weddings and spending time visiting cocktail bars with her friends.
William is a graduate consultant with a BA Hons 2:1 in Forensic Science and Criminal Investigation and joined us in 2017 with just under a years experience in the recruitment industry.
William has the ability to take the seed of an idea and develop it into a successful solution. His positive spirit has the potential to be a catalyst for the ambitious changes that we’re embracing here at aspire cambridge. Considerate of others with the ability to persuade in an assertive manner without coming across as demanding William is able to respond quickly on his feet and maintain a positive climate of communication. He’s a true “people person”.
Some people don’t always “get it’ right away, William does! He demonstrates a special skill in helping others visualise activities for success and illuminates a variety of pathways to success.
Williams knowledge of specifics and detail is a strength, and used in the spirit of making progress towards the end goal this serves his chosen path in recruitment admirably.
Beth graduated in 2017 from the University of Lincoln with a BA (Hons) in Media Production. Beth join us with a successful academic and work experience record. Ambitious and forward thinking she joins our marketing and communications department and will be responsible for managing our social media channels, online marketing campaigns, b2b and b2c communications, website content, designing both on and offline marketing material, brand strategy, blogs and vlogs, analytics of online services, and the preparation of exhibitions and networking events.
Beth is well versed in digital media, design, photography and radio production. Prior to her university degree she was accepted to the BFI film academy working with professional producers, directors and film companies. She was also nominated for a young persons film award!
You’ll also find Beth working in the community and has been involved in local youth groups, film nights and events for young people. She has been involved in youth entertainment for both the Cherry Hinton Festival and Strawberry Fair.
Amy joined our team in April 2017 with the primary objective to manage and develop our fast-paced, busy temporaries desk. Amy has past experience and sought after knowledge of the recruitment industry and is well versed when managing between 70-100 temporary workers at anyone time.
Past experience includes but is not limited to; managing the 360 recruitment process for temporary staffing solutions, payroll, holiday accrual, administration, resourcing for varied roles, sales calls for new business, client care, building successful client and candidate relationships, placing temporary candidates in both short and long term assignments and being on call for last minute and adhoc assignments.
Amy is an energetic, ambitious and enthusiastic professional. She possesses commercial awareness, and excellent presentation, verbal communication and organisational skills. Amy has a proven ability to meet and exceed the typical industry demands associated with recruitment as well as the relevant legislation and administrative tasks associated with the management of a busy temporaries division.
Outside of work you’ll find Amy traveling to different places around the world and experiencing fine wine & dining in new places.
Eleanor is a graduate consultant, having gained her BMus Hons in classical music. Eleanor is a proactive and reliable individual wishing to dedicate her career and development to the recruitment industry. Her character and attitude mirrored the ethos and environment that we offer here at aspire cambridge therefore, it was a sure fit on interview and we were delighted that Eleanor chose us to support her career desires.
Joining us in 2017 Eleanor wished to secure a role that could incorporate her communication skills as this is one of her largest attributes. A confident communicator with credible organisational skills Ellie brings to us experience of booking management, customer service, project administration, drafting job adverts and interviewing. Eleanor also offers experience of high volume project management, order management, database management and complaint handling.
Eleanor is looking forward to commencing studies towards the REC’s certificate in recruitment practice qualification securing membership with the IRP.
Outside of work you’ll find Eleanor on stage acting, singing or dancing in performances for local amateur dramatics groups. She is also a classically trained singer and loves sharing her gift with children where she teaches with a focus on learning how to improvise, build confidence and more importantly.. to have fun!
Lydia is a graduate consultant, having gained a BA Hons 2:1 in fine art. Lydia has a strong work ethic, proven time management and organisational skills, is an effective communicator and committed to delivering excellence and driven by targets and results – the key ingredients of becoming a successful recruitment consultant!
Lydia is able to accomplish complex tasks by working enthusiastically with people. Even when faced with very complex requirements, she has the ability to both harness the emotional capacity of a team, as well as deal with the details and minutiae of the project. Lydia has a rare ability to take the seed of an idea and make it develop into a successful solution. This is a strength that she utilises whenever possible! Lydia has an innate optimism and creativity and is able to think both quickly and analytically about ideas. Bethany graduated from University in 2014 with BA Hons in History. Since graduating Bethany has held positions in office administration to include exposure to HR, transport coordination, sales order processing and even a temporary position in recruitment administration! She joined aspire cambridge in July 2017 to manage the branch administration, compliance and quality control processes and procedures on behalf of our recruitment, human resources and finance departments.
Looking to embark on the next stage of her career to include further learning and development we welcomed Bethany’s strong work ethic, loyalty and enthusiasm. She compliments our team and mirrors our vision and goals for growth and ambition.
Outside of the office you will find Bethany volunteering in her local community and she is part of a swing dance group in Cambridge! She is looking forward to being part of the team here at aspire cambridge.
Jayn is an extensively experienced HR consultant and employee relations specialist with tribunal, HR strategy, L&D and operational leadership experience. Previously working as Head of HR for Phoenix Futures, a national charity working with people dealing with substance misuse. In addition, Jayn was a Lay member of East London Employment Tribunal Service for 5 years. Jayn has also worked for the Workplace Law Group, her role was internal HR and building their outsourced HR business which greatly mirrors the scope of her role here at aspire cambridge. More recently Jayn has relocated from London to Cambridgeshire to be closer to family and of course, we were only too delighted to welcome Jayn to our business.
Jayn is a very experienced HR Generalist and can hit the ground running. building credibility at all levels and empowering teams and managers to deliver strong commercial results.
Jayn has worked in a variety of sectors, not limited to but including: hotel and leisure, facilities, provision of security and cleaning to companies, provision of catering in companies and travel dining, construction, surveyors, architects, IT, newspaper, pubs, financial services, pharmaceutical companies, plant hire, retail, charities, not for profit – housing associations and both local and state government.
Outside of working hours you’ll find Jayn spending time with family and friends, in particular her gorgeous grandson
Following a successful position as a strategic hr business partner to an executive director and staff in global commercial sales, marketing and product planning teams Eddy made the decision to leave her post to improve her work/life balance. Joining aspire cambridge in 2014 as a freelance hr consultant Eddy enjoys working with a diverse collection of industries, including retail. hospitality, manufacturing and distribution.
She has built wonderful relationships with a portfolio of sme’s with whom she supports with hr services both ad hoc and regular across the full hr spectrum.
Having worked in hr roles in small, medium and very large organisations as well as leading a small team in her own business way before she studied people management; Eddy can tell you that the challenges you will face as a business owner, director or manager are exactly the same regardless of the size of your organisation, the only difference is that larger organisations occasionally have more resources to call on.
Outside of work you’ll find Eddy travelling and enjoying quality time with family and friends.
